- Do know energy users well – why they would and when they could save energy!
- Don't underestimate the influence of context – local circumstances create particular possibilities and constraints for energy savings!
- Do work together with stakeholders (in addition to your target group) to create a stimulating atmosphere for savings!
- Don't forget to test your ideas with your target group before you start your project on a large scale!
- Do involve your target group by connecting with their needs, ideas, language, communication channels and social networks!
- Don't overlook the power of social networks – make sure there is social support and pressure for savings!
- Do support learning – interact with your target group, learn from them and help them gain good experiences from energy saving!
- Don't carve your plans in stone – instead be flexible and adapt your project to new knowledge gained in the course of your project!
- Do look at the future and stimulate lasting changes by creating circumstances that support change after your project ends!
- Don't be afraid to discuss your project with colleagues or even people outside your organization!
