Rebound effect
Horace Herring
Put simply, the 'rebound' effect is the extent of the energy saving produced by an efficieny investment that is taken back by consumers in the form of higher consumption, either in the form of more hours of use or a higher quality of energy service. http://www.eoearth.org/article/Rebound_effect

Practicing learning and learning in practice: Testing learning tools for energy demand side projects
S. Breukers, J. Backhaus, R. Mourik, M. Hodson, S. Marvin, B. Brohmann
Paper presented at the ERSCP-EMSU 2010 conference in Delft: The [CHANGING BEHAVIOUR] learning tools have recently been tested in six pilot projects and this paper discusses the experiences of two of them. We discuss the extent to which the ‘learning tools’ have encouraged social learning. Although the paper is explorative, we can conclude that the tools contribute to the creation of a setting that is conducive to social learning. Several activities can be helpful for intermediaries to reflect on their own role and assumptions, the targeted behaviour, the target group and the social context of the project. http://energychange.info/articles/234-practicing-learning-and-learning-i...
